I’m thankful for my breakfast date. Now that we only have one car again, Nathan takes the bus two mornings a week. He left at 7:15 this morning, so it’s just J and I at the breakfast table. I can’t believe he’s big enough to sit at the table and eat like a big boy :)
Thankful - Day Fourteen
I’m thankful for washable crayons. Jensen hasn’t mastered the technique of keeping crayon on the paper yet. We have a few wall murals like this one. I bought washable crayons today so that I could give the magic erasers a break.
Thankful - Day Nine
I’m thankful for Art. Ever since I was a kid, I have really enjoyed art. I considered it as a major in college, but decided I would always want to pursue art as an avocation rather than a vocation. Sadly, I don’t have time to make much art of my own these days (I do have plans to change that eventually)… but in the meantime, I love to enjoy the artwork of my son and my students. Jensen loves to draw and color with crayons, chalk, and pretty much anything else he can get his hands on. He also loves to put stickers on everything! The pumpkin in the top left of this pic was decorated by Jensen (yes those are old mailing labels with the wrong address - they make great stickers, people!), and the artistic masterpiece to the right of the pumpkin is Jensen’s as well. The other works of art were created by my French students. They’re always giving me little (and big) drawings and paintings of who knows what! I particularly enjoy the small index card that appears to be depicting me, hugely pregnant, pulling my son in a wagon up a giant hill.
Thankful - Day One
Each day of November, I’ve decided to post a photo of something I’m thankful for. This one is for yesterday (oops). Join me!
Halloween Festivities 2011 (Part One)
Last year, I went to a Costumed Lunch with my mom’s group and we all took pictures of our adorable babies. This year, of course we had to repeat the tradition (although a costumed breakfast was more convenient because the toddlers now nap at noon). This year, Jensen was a little cowboy. Can you believe how cute he is?
Unfortunately he was so busy playing that he didn’t really want to pose for pictures, but I managed to catch shots of him staring at the fountain,
running away from me dancing, and hugging his friends.
It’s hard to believe that in just one year my little bud has grown from this adorable little babyinto my very own cowboy!
Jensen loves to brush his teeth and hair (especially simultaneously). Earlier this month, I picked up a pair of bunny ears for 50 cents at a garage sale. Jensen was determined to wear the bunny ears whilst brushing his teeth, because what could be more awesome than that? This is how we do Saturday mornings. My kid cracks me up.
Flying with a toddler?!?!?!
A week from tomorrow, we’re flying to India to visit my parents and brother.
I need tips and tricks for surviving 21 hours on a plane (not to mention layover time) with a 19 month old! Please?
7 pm - Jensen’s First Haircut (by mom in the bathroom - yeah we’re classy that way)

P.S. This is before the haircut…obviously
8:00 am Sticker Fun
Jensen enjoys covering his arms with stickers and then giving himself fist bumps. Yes, he is that awesome.
